Gasket Specs:
We tell you what others won't - gasket specs. Our gaskets are engineered from Meta-Aramid materials in the USA and Germany, not China. At a 20 oz. weight, 7/8" wide and 0.150" thick, the easy peel and stick gaskets provide lasting durability and superior heat resistance. The gaskets are specifically manufactured for the Big Green EGG kamados.

Tools for the Replacement:
We take the guess work out of how to get the old gasket off.
Each kit includes a Free scraper and 5 blades for hassle-free installation, a $7.99 value. We use this scraper on our gasket replacements. From our experience, you will need multiple blades on the rough ceramics.
If you have the old, original style, Big Green EGG, box hinge, we make available the two zip tie straps used in the video below. Note, you do not need these if you have the current hinge design.
Other things you'll need to complete the Gasket replacement are: wrenches, small amount of Acetone/Alcohol, rags and a piece of cardboard or similar if setting the dome on the ground.
We make the wrenches available and recommend keeping a set handy specifically for your EGG. This way, periodic maintenance on the nuts is a breeze. Note, the acorn nut wrench is a ratcheting box wrench. These are the same wrenches we include free with a band kit purchase.

Safety Tips per Videos:
Only replace the gasket on a completely cooled and dry Big Green EGG. Wear protective eyewear and gloves when handling Acetone or isopropyl alcohol, work in a well-ventilated area and do not use the products while smoking or near an open flame or any source of ignition.
Follow the Big Green EGG videos on how to install the gasket per your EGG's hinge design. Note, CGS gaskets are not a Big Green EGG product. Time wise, it is about a one or two beer project.
The package includes enough material to do both the top and bottom rims. The gasket is 7/8" wide. The Gasket weight is 20-ounce. Do not be fooled by lesser, non-weight listed, or Asian import gaskets. The color is like current EGG gaskets.
You might check the chimney stack to see if it needs replacing. We carry a gasket for it too.
