The Spider is a handy accessory that provides a wide range of flexibility. The bullet points follow the video:
Vision Spider can be set legs up or down.
use (2) 13" or 15" Half-Moon Heat Deflectors for low & slow BBQ cooks.
Use (1) 15" Half Ceramic Stone to create a direct and indirect set-up under the cooking grid.
Drop on 13" Cast Iron Grid to sear closer to the fire.
Drop in a 16" Carbon Steel Wok for hot and fast Asian cooks.
Spider in up position can hold a Large (18") cast iron grid.
Important:
Please verify the following measurements to insure the CGS Spider fits your Vision. Measurements are across the top edge of the fire bowl, see below:
The grill's inside diameter (ID) needs to be between 19" & 20-1/2 inches.
The fire bowl's inside diameter (ID) needs to be between 16-1/8" & 17-3/4" inches.
The deflector (Lava or ceramic) needs to be 12" to 15-1/2" in diameter.
For accessories (searing grids, deflectors, and pans) to fit, their diameter needs to be greater than 12.0" and less than 15-1/2". Our 16" wok, listed on our wok page, does fit and is recommended.
Specs:
In the down position, the Spider drops approx. 2-1/4" into the fire bowl, ample room for a heat deflector and 1" deep drip pan.
In the up position, the Spider elevates approximately 2-1/2", Check to insure the Spider falls below the felt rim.
Depending on your primary needs, we recommend 13" or 15", half-moon heat deflectors. The 15" provides more indirect coverage. Two 15" half stones will give you the most options - use both for BBQ or one for grilling.
Fabricated with 1/4 inch 304 stainless steel. Leg welds are Tig welds for improved stability; Made in the USA by Ceramic Grill Store.
