Top-Mounted Airflow Control for the Kamado Joe Jr.
Replace a damaged, worn, or missing top vent with a genuine Kamado Joe Jr. replacement Kontrol Tower.
The Kontrol Tower sits directly on top of the ceramic dome and controls how quickly hot air and smoke escape from the grill.
Working together with the lower draft door, the adjustable top vent helps control airflow through the Joe Jr. and fine-tune cooking temperature.
Open the Kontrol Tower wider for increased airflow and higher temperatures, or reduce the opening when settling the grill into a lower smoking temperature.
Important: This smaller Kontrol Tower is specifically sized for the Kamado Joe Jr. It is different from the larger Kontrol Towers used in the full size Kamado Joe grills.

When Should You Replace the Top Vent?
Replacement may be needed if the original Kontrol Tower is damaged, missing, difficult to adjust, or no longer sits properly on top of the ceramic dome.
Restoring smooth vent adjustment makes it easier to repeat your airflow settings and maintain better control over the charcoal fire.
How the Kontrol Tower Fits
The Joe Jr. Kontrol Tower mounts over the raised vent opening at the top of the ceramic dome. Position the vent securely on the dome and make sure it sits evenly before using the grill.
Once installed, use the lower draft door for larger airflow adjustments and the Kontrol Tower to fine-tune the temperature as the grill approaches your target.
