Product Description
Heavy-Duty Cast Iron Charcoal Grate for the Firebox
Replace a worn or damaged Primo lump grate with a genuine Primo cast iron charcoal grate. Located at the bottom of the firebox, the grate supports your lump charcoal while allowing combustion air to flow up through the fire and ash to fall below.
Available for Primo Oval XXL, XL, Large and Junior grills, as well as the Primo Kamado Round.
Lump Grate Highlights
- Heavy-Duty Cast Iron: Built to handle the intense heat generated inside the Primo firebox.
- Maintains Charcoal Airflow: Openings in the grate allow combustion air to move up through the charcoal while giving ash a path to fall below.
- Genuine Primo OEM Replacement: Designed specifically for the corresponding Primo Oval or Kamado Round grill.
- Firebox Divider Support — Oval Models: Center slots accept the Primo Cast Iron Firebox Divider for dividing the charcoal area.
- Correct Orientation: Install the Oval grate peg-side up with the marked 'This Side Up' surface facing upward.
Measure Your Existing Lump Grate Before Ordering
Primo has produced different grill and firebox configurations over the years. If you're unsure which replacement grate you need, measure your existing cast iron lump grate outside edge to outside edge and compare it to the measurements below.
- Primo Oval XXL: Contact us before ordering

- Primo Oval Large: Approx. 12-1/4"
- Primo Oval Junior: Approx. 10-1/2"
XXL Availability: Contact us before ordering the XXL lump grate. Availability can be limited, and online listings do not always reflect actual stock.
Older Primo Grills & Firebox Dividers
The current Primo cast iron charcoal grate may not work with certain older, pre-2015 Primo Firebox Dividers. If you have an older Primo and plan to use your existing divider, contact us before ordering so we can help confirm compatibility.

- Primo Kamado Round: The Round lump grate does not accommodate a Firebox Divider.
