Upper Ceramic Extension Ring above the Firebox
Replace a cracked, broken, or damaged Jr. fire ring with a genuine Kamado Joe Jr. ceramic fire ring.
The fire ring sits directly on top of the Joe Jr. ceramic firebox, raising the cooking grid farther above the charcoal fire and positioning it at the proper height inside the grill.
Unlike the multi-piece AMP FireBox used in larger Kamado Joe models, the Joe Jr. uses a two-piece ceramic firebox and fire ring combination to create the interior ceramic assembly.
The image below shows the fire ring sitting directly on top of the firebox. Firebox is not included.

When Should You Replace the Fire Ring?
Hairline cracks in ceramic components do not always prevent the grill from operating normally. Replacement becomes more important when the fire ring is badly cracked, broken, missing a section, or can no longer sit securely on top of the firebox.
A damaged upper edge can also prevent the cooking grid from sitting level and securely inside the grill.
How the Joe Jr. Fire Ring Fits
Place the ceramic firebox into the lower body of the Joe Jr., then set the fire ring evenly on top of the firebox. Make sure the ring is fully seated and stable before reinstalling the cooking grid and other internal components. The three indentations on top of the fire ring should face up.
