Genuine Kamado Joe Classic Joe II, Classic Joe III and Konnected Joe wire-mesh replacement gasket installed on the grill rim

The heavy wire-mesh fiberglass construction replaces the factory-style gasket around the dome and base. Its self-adhesive backing makes installation easier while helping restore the tight seal needed for controlled airflow and consistent kamado temperatures.

Heavy Wire-Mesh Fiberglass Construction

The replacement gasket helps maintain the seal between the dome and base, minimizing unwanted air and smoke leaks that can make temperature control more difficult.

This genuine Kamado Joe replacement gasket is designed to provide the thickness and fit required around the Classic Joe rim. Because the gasket must make even contact around the entire grill, we recommend using the OEM replacement rather than a thinner generic gasket.

Product image note: Product images and packaging may show the gasket material arranged in multiple rolls or sections. The Classic Joe kit includes enough material to replace the gasket around both the dome and base rims.

Self-Adhesive Backing for Easier Installation

The gasket has a self-adhesive backing that helps hold the material in position during installation. Proper surface preparation is important for a strong, lasting bond.

Carefully remove the old gasket and adhesive residue before installing the replacement. The ceramic surface should be clean and dry so the new gasket remains securely positioned around the grill.

Adding adhesive: Some installers choose to supplement the self-adhesive backing with a high-temperature adhesive. When using an additional adhesive, follow its application and curing instructions before cooking.

Why Replace Your Classic Joe Gasket?

A worn, flattened, loose or damaged gasket can allow unwanted air to enter around the rim of the grill. That additional airflow may make it harder to hold a steady temperature or shut the grill down after cooking.

Replacing the gasket helps restore the seal between the dome and base for more predictable airflow, temperature control and charcoal use.

Check the Gasket Before Replacing It

Some darkening and surface wear are normal after repeated cooks. Replacement may be needed when the gasket begins separating from the ceramic, has damaged or missing sections, remains heavily compressed or allows noticeable smoke to escape between the dome and base.

Before installation, inspect the alignment of the dome, bands, hinge and front latch. Proper grill alignment helps the new gasket make even contact around the full opening.
