Not every Big Green Egg setup needs a complete outdoor kitchen. The Modular EGG Mate is ideal for customers who want additional workspace while keeping their Modular Nest compact.

For customers upgrading from a traditional Big Green Egg Nest with EGG Mates, this configuration offers familiar folding side shelf convenience with the more substantial design and expandable possibilities of the Modular Nest System.

Install the Modular EGG Mate according to Big Green Egg's current assembly and mounting instructions. Confirm that the shelf is properly secured and fully supported before placing items on the work surface.

Do not exceed the manufacturer's 40-pound weight capacity. Keep hands clear of moving hardware when raising or lowering the shelf, and avoid placing hot cookware directly on the wood surface.

To preserve the natural appearance of the acacia hardwood, clean the shelf periodically and follow Big Green Egg's recommendations for maintaining the finish. Use cutting boards and heat-resistant trivets when appropriate, and protect the wood from prolonged exposure to moisture and harsh weather.
