Half-Moon Deflector for split-zone grilling on the XL Big Green EGG EGGspander
Expand your grilling capabilities with the XL Big Green EGG 21" Half-Moon Deflector. Designed for indirect cooking, this ceramic plate turns your Big Green Egg into an oven or smoker—perfect for low-and-slow BBQ, roasting, or baking.
This half-moon deflector is specifically made for use with the XL EGGspander system, allowing you to configure one or both sides of your grill for indirect heat. Add one for a two-zone setup or two for full-circle convection BBQ smoking.

Important Note:
The fire ring has a 21-1/2″ inside diameter, while the pair of deflectors measure 20-1/2″ across. That leaves a very narrow 1/2″ gap around the fire ring and deflectors for airflow.
Because the deflectors sit right at the top of the fire ring, it's important that you are comfortable with this limited opening.
For better performance, we recommend the CGS 18″ Half-Moon Deflector. At 18 inches, it closely matches the circular portion of the XL convEGGtor and allows for more effective air circulation.

Use
Best to set the stone in the grill as the grill comes to temperature to prevent thermal shock. Ceramic Stones absorb moisture like sponges, so protect the topside of the Stone with foil or drip pan.
Care
Do not oil or use dish detergents on the stone. Do not do clean with high heat or in the dishwasher.
