Why Use a Stainless Drip Pan

Ceramic deflectors absorb moisture like sponges. Trapped moisture can steam, stress the ceramic, and eventually lead to cracks. Using a 16-inch drip pan helps:

• Keep fluids away from the deflector;
• Reduce burnt-on drippings;
• Keep your grill cleaner for faster start-ups.

How to Use

• Perfect fit for Classic Joe 15-inch half-moon deflectors
• Place directly on the deflector, Accessory Ring, or CGS Ceramic Spacers
• Line with double foil for easy clean-up
• Recommended Spacers: 1.5-inch max height

Note: The 16-inch Drip Pan is too large to fit inside the Divide & Conquer’s lowest level. For the lowest position, side the firebox, use a CGS 14-inch drip pan.

Elevating the Drip Pan

For best results, elevate the drip pan above the deflector. The Divide & Conquer's Accessory Ring or CGS Spacers lift the pan just enough to:

• Minimize radiant heat from the stone
• Reduce burnt drippings that create bitter flavors
• CGS 2-inch Spacers on their 1.5-inch side

16-inch Max Coverage

This is the largest drip pan that properly fits above the firebox on Kamado Joe Classic grills. It fully covers your deflectors to catch drippings. 18-inch pans are too large.

Adding Fluids

At CGS, we prefer not to add liquid to the drip pan during BBQ cooks. Unlike offset smokers that constantly move air, kamados hold heat and moisture exceptionally well. Extra liquid raises humidity, which can impede bark development - and bark is what everyone likes.
