Product Description
Maximum Drip Coverage for XL-Class Ceramic Grills
Our 18" stainless round drip pan is the go-to size for many XL-class kamado setups, including the XL Big Green Egg, Kamado Joe Big Joe, Weber Summit Kamado, and other ceramic grills with a 20" to 24" round cooking grid.
Why Use a Stainless Drip Pan?
- Protects Ceramic Deflectors — keeps grease and drippings off porous ceramic surfaces.
- Cleaner Kamado Cooks — helps reduce burnt grease, off-odors, and stubborn buildup.
- Reusable Design — more stable and long-lasting than disposable aluminum pans.
- Wide Round Coverage — ideal for catching drippings from larger cuts of meat.
Compatible Grills
Rack systems can limit where the 18" drip pan fits, so spacing and deflector position matter. The following examples and sections show common setups for pan placement. We recommend ceramic spacers whenever possible.
- XL Big Green Egg
- Kamado Joe Big Joe I, II & III
- Weber Summit Kamado
- Pit Boss 24, Louisiana Grills 24 & Grill Kong 24
- Round grills with a 20" to 24" cooking grid
Fixed Rack Setups
CGS Woo for XL EGG

XL Big Green Egg ConvEGGtor & EGGspander System

18" is a perfect match to the diameter of the ConvEGGtor.
Kamado Joe Big Joe Divide & Conquer System

Kamado Joe setup requires the Accessory Rack to elevate the drip pan to a higher level.
CGS Woo for Pit Boss 24 & Louisiana Grills 24

Using the 18" pan requires CGS 2" Ceramic Spacers turned on their side. Otherwise, choose the 16" pan.
Flexible Rack Setups
CGS XL Adjustable Rig for XL EGG
The XL Rig gives XL Egg owners several ways to position the 18" drip pan. This is one of the biggest advantages of the Adjustable Rig over fixed-position OEM rack systems.
An extra pair of XL Crossbars may be needed to hold the 18" drip pan.

XL Woo and XL Adjustable Rig setup with 18" half-moon deflectors and 18" drip pan on the lower Woo ring.

XL Adjustable Rig double indirect setup with the 18" drip pan elevated above the upper deflector — top level inside the Rig.

XL Adjustable Rig setup with the drip pan raised high above the ConvEGGtor for max spacing. We prefer to have the drip pan directly under the cooking grid.
CGS XL Adjustable Rig - Pit Boss 24, Louisiana Grills 24 & Kong 24
The 18" drip pan is used inside the XL Rig. You have the option to set the pan directly on the deflector, or better yet, elevate it right under the cooking grid.

Note: A second set of Crossbars or a Slide Guide is required to elevate the drip pan.
How to Use & Clean
It is straightforward, but do not skip the foil.
- Double-Line with Foil: Overlap two sheets of heavy-duty foil in a "+" pattern before the cook. It makes cleanup quick and easy.
- Extend Coverage: You can flare the foil slightly over the rolled rim to catch wide drippings without blocking edge airflow.
- Expect Tarnish: It is normal for stainless steel to discolor from smoke and heat inside a kamado. This does not affect performance. Designate this pan as your dedicated BBQ grill pan.
- Cleaning: Ball up the foil with drippings and toss it in the trash. Give the pan a quick hand wash or place it in the dishwasher.
- Dishwasher: If you skip the foil, the dishwasher will not remove hardened baked-on grease.
Ceramic Spacers
For best results, allow as much vertical space as possible between the heat deflector and drip pan. More air space helps reduce the heat transfer from the deflectors to the pan. Keep in mind, the deflectors get much hotter than your low-and-slow cooking temperature.

Why the 1" Tapered Side Matters
The 1" tapered sidewall flares outward to help catch grease where it is most likely to fall from larger cuts of meat.
Since kamado grills already retain heat and moisture extremely well, we generally do not recommend adding liquid to the drip pan during most BBQ cooks. The 1" depth gives you generous drip-catching capacity without creating unnecessary clearance issues.
What’s Included
- (1) 18" Stainless Steel Drip Pan
Foil, ceramic deflectors, rack systems, crossbars, and ceramic spacers are sold separately.
18" Drip Pan Specifications
- Diameter: 18"
- Depth: 1" with tapered sidewall
- Edge: Rolled top edge for added rigidity
- Material: 200-Series Stainless Steel
There is no practical need to pay more for 304 stainless in this application. All stainless drip pans will tarnish and discolor from normal BBQ use, but that does not affect performance.
Half-Moon Pans & Built-In Feet
Our preference is one full round drip pan because it better matches the deflector coverage used for longer, messier BBQ cooks like pork butt, brisket, and ribs.
For shorter or cleaner cooks, foil over one or both deflectors is often enough. If you use any reusable drip pan, we still recommend lining it with foil for easier cleanup and longer life.
Built-in feet may sound convenient, but they usually create very little air gap between the very hot deflector and pan. A larger, adjustable air gap gives drippings a better chance to stay cleaner during the cook.
