Product Description
Flexible expander—switch between half & full grid. Add a Big Joe Deflector for indirect grilling in the dome. Fits all Big Joes.
Two Grid System:
The key to the Expander is its two grid system. With two grids, you can configure grid size and position depending on what and how much you're cooking. Total grid area is approx. 297 sq. inches.
The Big Joe Expander fits both Big Joe 1, 2 & 3. Check the video to see how easy it is.
Cool Option: Don't miss the Half Stone Hanger update below. It works with one of your Big Joe half-moon deflectors.
- When grilling, the half grid allows easy access to and adds plenty of shelf space above the Divide and Conquer grids.
- When BBQing, both grids on the Expander provides sufficient grid space for big briskets, multiple pork butts or several rack of ribs above the Divide & Conquer system.
- For pizza, the Expander puts the pizza stone high in the dome - just where you want it!
- Being able to move the Expander to different levels on the Divide and Conquer system adds a great deal of versatility.
Half Stone Hanger Option:
We modified the XL EGG Hanger to fit the Big Joe Expander. It's an easy way to create an indirect set-up under the Expander's Half Grid using one of your Big Joe half-moon deflectors.
Big Plus: Unlike Kamado Joe's Expander, you can use the Expander independent of the Big Joe grids. Go low with the Big Joe grids and high in the dome with the Expander. This is the perfect reverse sear set-up, as you can do the entire cook without reconfiguring the grill.
