What's with the PSWoo name:
PS stands for "platesetter," the original term for today’s ConvEGGtor. Woo honors the first EGGhead to receive our original fixed grid expander. Our PSWoo is the original to handle the ConvEGGtor and provide a sliding second level. The PSWoo components are proudly made in the USA.
What the PSWoo does better than EGG's EGGspander:
Best at Managing the ConvEGGtor: With the PSWoo, the ConvEGGtor slides in and out from the side. You do not have to remove the grid and food, like you do with EGG's EGGspander. You'll come to truly appreciate this simple capability.
Bigger 2nd Grid Option: The PSWoo Combo features a sliding second grid (14"x16"), offering more space than the EGGspander's second grid (13.75").
Grid at the Bottom Level: The PSWoo can sit atop your EGG grid, so you do not have to buy the two EGGspander half grids.

Update - Extender and 16 Sliding Grid:
We updated the Extender by replacing the bottom ring and pegs with a complete bottom ring. Additionally, the Grid features two front hooks that support it when pushed back. Two simple changes y'all asked us to incorporate in the design.

Move Cautiously with Half Grids & Deflectors:
Be cautious with your excitement for half grids and deflectors. When designing the PSWoo, we carefully considered half grids and found that, while they look great, they pose practical challenges regarding access and usable space in the Large EGG. Interestingly, the Classic Kamado Joe's Divide & Conquer faces similar challenges.
Keep in mind that having full grids on both the top and bottom is impractical, as it restricts access to the lower grid. This issue applies to both the PSWoo and the EGG EGGspander.

Switching over to Half Moon Deflectors:
To switch from the ConvEGGtor to half-moon deflectors on the PSWoo Expander, you'll need the CGS Large 3 Leg Spider. This Spider elevates the half-moon stone(s) above the fire ring, improving airflow. Plus, when you lift and set the setup aside, the hot deflectors remain elevated above the tabletop. You can also use one half-moon deflector to create two distinct cooking zones.
Exercise caution when using the EGG's Large Half Moon ConvEGGtors with the EGG EGGspander. Since the EGGspander positions the half-moon deflectors right at the top of the fire ring, their 16-inch size may obstruct airflow from the sub-16-inch fire ring. For improved performance, we recommend using the CGS 15" Half-Moon Deflectors along with a 16" Stainless Drip Pan.

Full Cast Iron Grid:
With the PSWoo, we recommend using the Big Green EGG's Large Full Round Cast Iron Grid. While it’s shown below, we do not advise placing cast iron grids on top of any Expander. Keep it down where the grid can absorb the heat it needs.

Wok - Hot & Fast
While the Large CGS and EGG Expanders can accommodate a 16" wok, we do not recommend it. Wok cooking is a very hot, fast-paced cook, and the upper ring of the Expander can very easily interfere with your ability to handle the wok effectively.
Our Spider, inverted up, is a much better wok holding platform.

Specs:
PSWoo fabricated using 1/4" 304 Stainless Steel, raises the Large EGG cooking grid 4-1/8". Two handles and one back support connect top and bottom rings for added strength. Fabricated inhouse by Ceramic Grill Store.
Extender is fabricated using 1/4" 304 Stainless Steel. It holds and guides the 16 Sliding Grid. Spacing between grids is 3.75 inches. Fabricated inhouse by Ceramic Grill Store.
16 Sliding Grid features a 16" diameter with a short (flat) side measuring 14.5" deep. The crosswires are spaced approximately 1/2" apart to accommodate secondary cooks like vegetables and foiled pouches. Made in the USA from 3/16" 304 Stainless Steel, it slides effortlessly on the Extender, and two small hooks provide added stability when sliding it back.
