Product Description
14-Inch Ceramic Pizza Stone for Large size kamados
The Big Green Egg 14-inch Ceramic Pizza Stone provides a full-round baking surface for pizza, bread, focaccia, and other baked foods. A popular size for the Large Big Green Egg, it also works in many kamado grills with 18-inch or larger cooking grids.
The ceramic absorbs and distributes heat across the baking surface, helping cook pizza crusts evenly. Its 14-inch diameter provides useful baking space while leaving room around the stone for heat and airflow to circulate inside the grill.
Grill Compatibility & Recommended Fitment
The 14-inch pizza stone is Big Green Egg's recommended pizza stone for the Large Egg. It also works well in many other kamado grills with approximately 18-inch or larger cooking grids.
- Big Green Egg: Large, XL, and 2XL models
- Kamado Joe: Classic Joe and Big Joe models
- Primo: Large and XL Oval and Round models
- Weber: Summit Kamado
- Pit Boss: 22-inch and 24-inch kamado grills
- Vision Grills: Large kamado models
- Louisiana Grills: 22-inch and 24-inch kamado grills
Before Ordering: Confirm that your rack system can securely support the stone while maintaining adequate airflow around the perimeter and clearance inside the dome.
Looking for a Little More Baking Surface?
For many 18-inch and larger kamados, we recommend the CGS 15-inch Full-Round Ceramic Pizza Stone. The larger diameter provides more baking space while maintaining adequate perimeter airflow in compatible setups.

Pizza Stone Setup, Cooking Tips & Care
How to Set Up Your Pizza Stone
For best results, use the 14-inch pizza stone as the upper baking surface with a separate heat deflector positioned below it. Creating an air gap between the lower deflector and pizza stone helps reduce concentrated bottom heat and promotes more even baking.
When your rack system allows, raise the pizza stone closer to the top of the Egg's base or higher into the dome. This positions the baking surface farther from the charcoal and helps move the setup away from the gasket area.
CGS Ceramic Spacers can create the recommended air gap between the lower deflector and pizza stone. They also provide additional lift when the cooking system allows.

Pizza Cooking Tips
- Preheat the Stone: Allow the pizza stone to heat gradually with the grill before baking.
- Use Indirect Heat: Position a separate heat deflector below the stone to shield it from concentrated charcoal heat.
- Maintain an Air Gap: Keep the pizza stone separated from the lower deflector rather than stacking the ceramic surfaces directly together.
- Check Dome Clearance: Make sure a raised stone clears the thermometer stem and dome when the lid closes.
- Prevent Sticking: Use a light dusting of cornmeal on your pizza peel to help transfer dough onto the heated stone. If using parchment paper, verify that it is rated for your cooking temperature.
- Maintain Perimeter Airflow: Leave adequate space around the outside of the stone for circulating heat.
Pizza Stone Care & Maintenance
- Do not use soap, detergents, or chemical cleaners on porous ceramic.
- Do not submerge the stone in water or clean it in a dishwasher.
- Do not oil the baking surface.
- Allow the ceramic to heat and cool gradually whenever possible.
- Scrape away loose food debris after the stone has cooled.
- Avoid aggressive high-temperature cleaning burns.
- Expect the natural ceramic surface to darken with regular use.
14-Inch Big Green Egg Pizza Stone FAQs
Do I need a heat deflector beneath the pizza stone?
We recommend using a separate heat deflector beneath the pizza stone with an air gap between the two ceramic surfaces. This helps protect the baking stone from concentrated direct charcoal heat and supports more even baking temperatures.
Why does CGS recommend raising the pizza stone?
Raising the stone moves the baking surface farther from the charcoal and closer to the heat circulating through the dome. It also helps position the setup farther from the gasket area when the grill and rack system provide adequate clearance.
Will the pizza stone darken with use?
Yes. Ceramic pizza stones naturally darken as they are exposed to heat, smoke, and cooking residue. This is normal and does not affect baking performance.
