Product Description
Replacement temperature gauge with easy-to-read faceplate monitors dome temperatures in Big Green EGG Grills. USA Made. Max 750°F.
Gauge Highlights:
This high-quality, stainless steel temperature gauge precisely monitors temperatures inside the dome. The big 3-inch faceplate makes it easy to read temperatures.
Fits These GGS:
- XXLarge, 2XL,
- XL,
- Large,
- Medium,
- Small and,
- MiniMax
Gauge Installation:
- Carefully insert stem from the outside through small hole in dome of the EGG; the silicone washer should remain on the outside of the EGG.
- Carefully reach inside the dome and slide the retaining clip onto the stem. Squeeze the clip so that it slides easily.
- Slide clip up the stem until the silicone washer sits snugly against the exterior of the dome. For an accurate reading, the thermometer must be installed past the groove on the lower portion of the stem.
Tip for Easy Reading:
Spin the dial, so your target temperature is at the 12 o'clock position on the dial. Now all you need to do is see where the temperature arrow points. If pointing left of 12 o'clock your temperature is low. If pointing right of 12 o'clock, your temperature is high. The farther away from 12 o'clock the arrow points, the farther you are from your target temperature.
Gauge Calibration
This thermometer is calibrated and adjusted at the factory. If you are in high altitudes or wish to check the calibration:
- Bring a clean container of water to a boil.
- Carefully place the end of the thermometer probe into boiling water past the groove on the lower portion of stem. Leave immersed for at least one minute taking care not to let the probe touch the container.
- The boiling point will read 212°F/100°C at sea level. The boiling point decreases approximately 2° with each 1000’ of altitude. If the thermometer does not read 212°F/100°C at sea level, calibration can be reset by carefully holding the thermometer head and turning the hex nut with a wrench to move dial in one direction or the other.
For Safety - Caution:
- Do not adjust the hot thermometer with bare hands!
- Do not hold the thermometer with bare hands while placing in boiling water as burns can result!
- Thermometer tip is sharp. Do not leave unattended or place within reach of children.
