A Half-Moon Deflector brings real flexibility to your grilling game. Whether you want one indirect zone for reverse searing or full indirect coverage for baking and BBQ, it’s a must-have for serious kamado cooking.
Important:
CGS does not recommend using 16-diameter heat deflectors on the Large Big Green EGG EGGspander. A Pair are bigger than the inside diameter of the firebox and can severely limit airflow out of the firebox. A pair of 15-inch half-moon deflectors is a better fit.
Check specific accessories (Rig, Woo, Spider) to verify best use for Half, Pair or Full Stone(s). Our 16" Stainless Drip Pan is the perfect match to protect the stones on messy barbeque cooks.
Use
Best to set the stone in the grill as the grill comes to temperature to prevent thermal shock. Ceramic Stones absorb moisture like sponges, so protect the topside of the Stone with foil or drip pan.
Care
Do not oil or use dish detergents on the stone. Do not do clean with high heat or in the dishwasher. To clean, scrape debris off and heat with moderate temperatures.

Approximate stone specifications are 16"W x 8"D x 5/8"H. Approximate is 4.5 lbs.
Drip Pan Protection
Check out the CGS 16" Stainless Drip Pan and Ceramic Spacers. Use the Pan to catch drippings and protect the deflector. Use the Spacers to lift the pizza stone above the deflector.
