Support Ceramic Deflectors for Indirect Cooking

The Primo Round Heat Deflector Rack supports ceramic heat deflector plates beneath the main cooking grid of the Primo Kamado Round. By positioning the ceramic between the charcoal and food, the rack makes it possible to configure your Primo Round for indirect barbeque, roasting, baking, and two-zone grilling.

Pair the rack with one or two ceramic half-moon deflectors to create the cooking setup you need, from low-and-slow smoking to direct and indirect cooking at the same time.

How the Primo Round Deflector Rack Works

This Primo OEM Heat Deflector Rack rests on the firebox rim and supports ceramic heat deflectors below the cooking grid. Three built-in risers position the main cooking grid above the deflectors, providing clearance for indirect heat circulation.

CGS recommends pairing this rack with our 15-inch Half-Moon Ceramic Heat Deflectors. The 15-inch diameter provides broad indirect coverage while maintaining airflow clearance around the ceramic and grill walls.

Indirect & Two-Zone Cooking Setups

Full Indirect Cooking

Install two 15-inch half-moon ceramic deflectors to create a broad heat barrier beneath the cooking grid. This setup works well for low-and-slow barbeque, roasting, and baking.

Two-Zone Cooking

Install one 15-inch half-moon ceramic deflector to create an indirect cooking area while leaving the opposite side open to direct charcoal heat. This configuration lets you sear over direct heat and finish cooking indirectly without changing the entire setup.

Installation:

1. Place the heat deflector rack directly onto the rim of the ceramic firebox.
2. Position one or two ceramic half-moon deflectors onto the rack.
3. Set the main cooking grid onto the three raised supports.

The deflectors should sit securely within the rack, below the cooking grid, with space around the ceramic for heat circulation.

Important: This product includes the metal heat deflector rack only. Ceramic heat deflectors are sold separately.
