I have been smoking on Large Big Green Egg for number of years. Have been happy with results but looking for someway to make setup more user friendly. Also wanted to experience smoking ribs with grate in a higher/raised position. My first cook with Expander was on Mother’s Day. The Expander made setup of the ConEGGtor heat defuser and drip pan easier and faster. Important to me was fact I achieved setup and Baby Back Ribs Smoking with considerably less exposure to smoke! ***** Stars and made in the USA at competitive price.
I have been using my green egg for 10+ years now. This is an amazing little product. It is clean, easy to setup, easy to take out to reload charcoal and doubles your cooking service.
Didn't fit my grill but thats not really the seller's fault. What I don't like is that returning it would cost as much as I paid for it, so now I am stuck with it because it isn't worth the cost to send it back.
Great brush. Works great for cleaning the inside walls of my grill and the ash pan too.
Just what I needed to pull off the double indirect method. Ring is holding up very nicely after several cooks. Very pleased
The bottom thing-a-ma-jig is amazing. It gives you the ability to pick out the rack and your food all at once. KJ should be paying to put this in all the JR’s.
The expander rack is so-so. Great quality like everything from CGS but I’m not sure how I like the distance between the 2 grates while cooking. Very tight. This is my only riser rack for the Jr so I’m not sure if they all have this issue or not. If the rack was 1.5” higher I would like it more but I’m not sure if that’s possible.
Very happy with this setup and the optional accessories. With this there isn’t a need to pay thousands for a series 3 Kamado Joe. You can setup for a double indirect cook plus you have 2 additional levels for meat.
It’s kinda pricy but the quality is well worth it.
I wish they made clamps or some way to make half moon grates stable on the top level. Maybe an extension bar that simply closes the top ring. My riser rack would probably fit if I could use the stock half moon grates on top.

The Kick Ash Basket and Ash Can make cleanup of the XL Egg super easy. Works in conjunction with my other Egg and Ceramic Grill Store accessories.

After searching through reviews and watching the video, I decided on this for extra room in our large Green Egg. It’s easy to put together and the slider grill grate on top is awesome. We were able to grill more than we normally could with just the standard grate. This is a must-have accessory in my opinion. I appreciated all of the content on the website as it helped me figure out what all I wanted to buy and it’s convenient they include everything in a kit.
I decided to try these with my primo xl. Great addition.
