Product Description
Pizza Stone for Large Grills & Deflectors for Select Kamados
The CGS 15" ceramic deflectors are available as half-moon deflectors or a full-round pizza stone, giving you options for indirect barbeque, two-zone grilling and pizza baking.
The 15" half-moons are a direct replacement size for Kamado Joe Classic Joe and 18" Konnected Joe deflector setups. They also fit select CGS and other OEM grill rack systems.
Kamado Joe Classic & Konnected Joe
The 15" half-moon deflectors fit the Kamado Joe Divide & Conquer cooking system in Classic Joe models and the 18" Konnected Joe. Use one half-moon for direct and indirect cooking zones or combine the pair for full indirect barbeque.

Pizza
The full-round 15" stone works well as a pizza and baking stone in kamado grills with an 18" or larger cooking grid. Its size provides a substantial baking surface while leaving room around the stone for airflow.

Before Ordering: Fitment and positioning depend on the specific grill and rack system being used. Always check the applicable CGS grill or rack-system product page for the recommended deflector size, support position and setup details.
Recommended Uses:
The 15" ceramic deflectors and pizza stone require a compatible rack or support. Popular applications include:
- Pizza Stone: Kamado grills and ovens with an 18" or larger cooking grid
- Kamado Joe Classic Joe & 18" Konnected Joe: Divide & Conquer cooking system; CGS Spider on compatible Classic Joe models
- Primo Kamado Round: Primo Heat Deflector Rack
- Vision Grills: CGS Spider, CGS Large Woo or CGS Adjustable Rig
Large Big Green EGG: For the CGS Woo, Adjustable Rig and EGG Dual Zone setups, we recommend the larger CGS 16" half-moon deflectors.

Why Choose Half-Moon Heat Deflectors?
Half-moons give you more flexibility than a single full-round deflector.
- Two-zone grilling: Use one half-moon to create direct and indirect cooking zones
- Full indirect barbeque: Combine two halves for complete indirect coverage
- Compatibility: Pair half-moons with other accessories on the same rack level
- Easier handling: Two smaller pieces are easier to handle and store
- Lower replacement cost: If one half breaks, you only need to replace that piece
- Easier fire access: Remove or reposition one half to reach the charcoal during a cook
Setting Up the Full-Round Pizza Stone
For pizza cooks, position the full-round pizza stone above a separate heat deflector with an air gap between the two ceramic surfaces. The lower deflector blocks direct heat from the charcoal, while the elevated stone provides the baking surface.

For even heating, use a lower blocking stone that is at least as large as the baking stone. Position the baking stone high in the dome when your setup allows, while maintaining adequate airflow around the outer edge and staying clear of the thermometer stem.
Use cornmeal or parchment paper between the dough and stone to help prevent sticking. Check the applicable CGS grill or rack-system page for the recommended deflector size, spacing and stone height.
Using a Drip Pan
For barbeque cooks, we strongly recommend placing a stainless steel drip pan above the ceramic heat deflector.

Ceramic is porous and can absorb grease and moisture. Reheating trapped moisture can create steam inside the ceramic and place additional stress on the stone.
Double-wrap the drip pan with foil in a '+' pattern. This makes cleanup much easier.
Benefits of Ceramic Spacers

CGS Ceramic Spacers create an air gap above the heat deflector and can improve your setup in several ways:
- Under a drip pan: Helps reduce scorching and burnt drippings
- Between deflectors: Creates separation in double-indirect setups
- Under a pizza stone: Adds lift and creates thermal separation between the deflector and baking stone
Care & Maintenance
- Do not use soap, detergents or chemical cleaners on the porous ceramic.
- Do not clean the ceramic in a dishwasher or submerge it in water.
- Scrape away food debris and gently burn off remaining residue at moderate temperatures as needed.
- Use a drip pan to help protect the ceramic from grease buildup.
- Avoid extreme high-heat cleaning burns, which can damage the kamado.
- Allow the ceramic to heat and cool gradually whenever possible.
- Expect the natural ceramic surface to darken with normal use.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will these 15" deflectors fit my grill?
Fitment depends on both the grill and the rack or support being used. Check the applicable CGS grill or rack-system product page before ordering to confirm the recommended size and setup.
Do the deflectors require a rack?
Yes. When used as heat deflectors, the ceramic pieces require a compatible Woo, Spider, Divide & Conquer, factory rack or other support that positions them securely inside the grill.
How should I arrange the stone for pizza?
Place the full-round pizza stone above a separate lower heat deflector with ceramic spacers creating an air gap between them. The lower deflector blocks concentrated direct heat, while the elevated stone provides the baking surface.
Why do you recommend 16" deflectors instead of 15" for most Large Big Green EGG CGS setups?
The larger 16" half-moon deflectors provide broader indirect coverage and are the recommended size for the CGS Woo, Adjustable Rig and EGG Dual Zone setups in the Large Big Green EGG.
Will the ceramic darken with use?
Yes. Ceramic deflectors and pizza stones naturally darken as they are exposed to smoke and cooking residue. This change is normal and does not affect cooking performance.
Can I clean the ceramic with a high-heat burn?
We do not recommend aggressive high-heat cleaning burns. Scrape away loose debris and gently burn off residue at moderate temperatures. Using a drip pan helps prevent heavy grease buildup.
