Add more versatility for MiniMax EGG - grill higher, half stone deflector option, easy in/out with CGS' Woo.

Note: MiniMax Expander fits the current MiniMax Big Green EGG® and does not fit other manufacturers' grills.

Our Expander offers more options than the Big Green EGG convEGGtor®. It is easy to:

  • lift in and out;
  • raise the cooking grid;
  • add a 10-inch half-moon deflector for two zone grilling;
  • add pair half-moon or full round 10-inch deflector to smoke BBQ;
  • add 10-inch drip pan for easy clean up; and
  • go one or two 10-inch stones for pizza;
  • does not interfere with Kick Ash Basket sitting atop the fire ring
  • Option to remove the Handles.

Important: Late 2015, Big Green EGG modified the MiniMax fire ring. You need to take a measurement to insure use. Measure from the top the EGG base (felt line) to the top of the fire ring (do not measure into the notches). The fire ring is what your cooking grid sits on:
  • If your measurement is approximately 1.50-inches, you are good to go. The Mini Max Woo fits your grill.
  • If your measurement is approximately 0.75-inches, unfortunately we no longer offer a MiniMax Woo Ring for this grill. This is the original MiniMax EGG that was in production for a very short time. To use our MiniMax Woo, you will need to replace the MiniMax fire ring. The current MiniMax Fire Ring (part #115607) is wider and shorter.

Video Update: Handles vs. No Handles: Folks prefer the handles. The Handles make it much easier and quicker to manage the Woo. We provided an option to remove the handles.

One big advantage our Expander has over EGG's ConvEGGtor is accessing the lump. With our Expander you do not have to disassemble the set-up. Just pick up the Expander and everything comes with it - deflector, drip pan, grid and food.

Foil the Drip Pan for extended coverage and quick clean up.

For pizza, add a second 10-inch Ceramic Stone. The set-up is: Expander, grid, deflecting stone, ceramic spacers, pizza stone. Ceramic spacers create space between the stones and help push the pizza stone higher in the dome. You can find the Spacers on our Ceramic (Pizza) Stone page.

The MiniMax Woo is fabricated using 1/4-inch 304 Stainless Round bar. The MiniMax Woo is our design and proudly "Made in the USA" in our fabrication shop.

Could Be Better

Works as advertised. But - the lower ring (and stone if used) gets lowered into the fire ring so much that it does limit the charcoal you can add. Also, the upper cooking ring is higher than I would like. I think the ring could be halfway between where it is and the top of the fire ring and that would be a better height for most grilling. For straight smoking I prefer the BGE plate setter.

Does not work with ask basket

I like the fact it raises the grill grate but if you have a kick ash basket it the ring will not fit.

hi, set the woo ring on top of the fire ring, not in the notches and it will not interfere with the kick ash basket. thanks for taking the time to review the woo.

works great on my small egg just what I needed to keep from burning my food. Very pleased with my woo & plate.

I really like being able to remove the woo without taking it apart and how it sets up above the felt line.grilled burgers was very easy to check and flip them. First time I used it and I am not disappointed,very well made.

SIX STARS - Another Great Product from a Great Store

This MM Woo Ring along with the 10" stone and drip pan are perfect for our new MiniMax. From a $$ standpoint it just made sense. We could have bought an OEM product to deflect the heat, but the one piece alone would have been more than 60% of the cost of the complete set up we got from the CGS (without the added Woo Ring and perfect sized Drip Pan). And, the real deal is that - this product is superior. 1. It still affords you direct or indirect cooking (and the 10" stone is the exact dimension of the circular part of the OEM product, though it's a thicker, more robust stone), 2. It raises the cooking grate a little further from the coals. The original set up of the MM results in the cooking grate being very close to the heat; this helps resolve that issue both direct and indirect. 3. It creates more space (bigger gap) between the deflector and the cooking grate which allows me to use a drip pan placed raised off of the stone with ceramic spacers (also from CGS and necessary to keep liquid in the drip pan from boiling/frying when sitting directly on the stone). The original OEM product did not allow enough space between the deflector surface and the cooking grate for the raised drip pan.

Without a doubt I'm a fan of CGS products, we've bought several products for all three of our BGEs (MM, L, & XL). All of these products are of professional quality and work perfect for our eggs. That coupled with first class Customer Service means you can't go wrong!

Well, I've got to run now... got to go fire up the XL to roast 25 Lbs of Hatch Green Chiles then BBQ some chicken thighs for dinner. Going to be good tonight..... Cheers!

Best regards,
