How it works:

You stick one food probe in the meat and clip the ambient (pit) probe on the cooking grid. Connect each probe to the FBX2D Controller via one of six ports. The Blower/Fan unit mounts to the kamado's lower vent using one of the Adapter Plates. The Blower/Fan connects via cable to the FBX2D Controller. The Controller connects to the power supply and wall outlet.

During the cook, the FBX2D Controller uses the probes to monitor and record temperatures and when needed initiates the Blower/Fan unit. When grill side, opt for the Controller's LCD screen to keep up to date on the cook. When away from the grill, keep tabs on the cook via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

Handy Option, Controller Base:

The magnetic base is a handy way to hold your Controller on a table or side shelf. Built-in magnets attach to most metal (not 304 Stainless) surfaces. A non-slip bottom also lets the base firmly rest on a flat surface. The base provides easy screen viewing and port access. To avoid heat damage, do not attach the base to any hot part of a grill.

Blower/Fan:

Variable Speed 20 CFM Blower, Small/Medium Adapter Plate: 2.75 x 1.97″ (70 x 50mm), Large/XL Adapter Plate: 3.43 x 3.03″ (87 x 77mm)

The Adapter Plates with mounted fan slips into the kamado's bottom draft door track. The Plates are rotatable (90°) to find the most snug fit in the track. Not to worry, if the Plates do not fit the draft door track. as you can quickly trim the larger Plate to match the track width. It's not hard to do with a pair of metal snips or shears. 

Built-in sliding damper on the fan to fine tune airflow. We love this feature, as it allows us to have top and bottom control over airflow!
