The R&B Combo's oval footprint excels at smoking long meats on one or two grids. With grilling, the Combo effortlessly manages direct & raised grid cooks at varying heights. And, like all Rig Combos, expanding capabilities is virtually endless.

The Large Adjustable Rig: (Rig)

The Adjustable Rig is a simple to use “multi-level” platform. It is easy to set-up, weighs less than four pounds, is all 304 Stainless and can live in your grill.

The Rig has four levels: three notch levels and top ring. The three notch levels use two crossbars to support a grid, pan or deflector inside the Rig. Your EGG cooking grid sits on top of the Rig. A fifth level is possible, as the Rig can sit atop a cooking grid too.

Many Large EGG owners say the Adjustable Rig is their "go to" Expander and with the wide variety of Rig accessories, it is their most valuable EGG accessory.

What is the R&B Combo:

The R&B Combo is a preassembled package that excels at smoking long or multiple meats. The oval deflector protects long foods - a brisket or multiple ribs, butts, or chickens. Go one or two grids using the Combo's oval grid in the Rig and/or your EGG grid on top of the Rig.

With grilling, the Combo manages the routine cooks but the 4 Rig levels provide greater flexibility on grid position when compared to other Eggspanders.

What is included:

Large Adjustable Rig is a multi-level Expander that sits directly on the EGG fire ring. Two Crossbars hold a grid, deflector or drip pan in the Rig.
13"x17" Oval Heat Deflector creates the indirect, smoking set-up. It is designed to protect long foods - brisket or multiple butts, ribs, or chickens.
Slide Guide supports the Oval Grid as it slides in/out of the Rig.
13"x17" Oval SS Cooking Grid slides in/out on the Slide Guide. It is designed to hold long foods: brisket and multiple butts, ribs, or chickens.

*Your Large EGG grid sits atop the Rig, creating the two-grid option.

Why we prefer the 13x17 Oval Heat Deflector over the EGG ConvEGGtor

The 17" long Oval protects the ends of ribs and brisket.
The 13" straight side is wide enough to protect brisket, ribs, butts, or full chickens.
The Oval sits above the fire ring for better airflow and more consistent cooking temperatures.
The Oval's position is adjustable - move it up or down in the Rig.
If you lift the Rig out, everything comes with it. No need to handle a hot deflector, grid, or food.
The 13x17 Oval Deflector costs less than a ConvEGGtor.

Grilling - 4 Height Options

Set-up is quick, just set the Rig in the EGG and add a grid.

Atop the Rig: This is the sweet spot with the Large EGG grid. At 2-inches above the felt line, grilling temperatures are more uniform and temperature control is less demanding.
Inside the Rig: The 3 notch levels let you better match grilling temperatures to what's cooking. Most common cook is burgers at the Rig's lower levels. The burgers are still close to the fire but flipping them is much easier.

Smoking BBQ, Low-N-Slow

For smoking BBQ, the R&B Combo efficiently manages the popular meats: ribs, brisket, pork butts, sausage, salmon, and chicken on one or two grids.

The oval stone acts as the indirect piece and replaces the ConvEGGtor. The stone provides full indirect coverage and protects the rib & brisket ends. Plus, having the stone above the fire ring improves airflow through the EGG when compared to the ConvEGGtor. For most cooks, the oval deflector goes on the Rig's lowest level.

For single grid smoking cooks, you have options on where to place the grid: Large EGG grid on top or the Combo's oval grid inside the Rig. For two grid BBQ cooks, it is the oval grid at the Rig's middle level and Large EGG grid on top of the Rig.

The Adjustable Rig is a simple to use “multi-level” platform. The Rig is easy to set up, will not hinder airflow, weighs less than four pounds and can live in your grill. Many ceramic grill owners convey that the Adjustable Rig is their "go to" Expander and with the wide variety of Rig accessories, it is their only Expander.

All metal components are fabricated using 304 Stainless Steel. Made in the USA exclusively by/for CGS, Ceramic Grill Store. The 13"x17" Oval Heat Deflector is a Ceramic Grill Store exclusive. All measurements are approximate.

Large Adjustable Rig & Crossbars: A front portion of the top ring is cut away and lowered, improving access to the firebox and inside the Rig. Opening between the front brackets is 13-3/16" wide. Top and bottom ring diameters are 17-3/8" OD. Rings and back support are 1/4" round bar. Brackets are 3/16" laser cut plate. Two Crossbars (one pair) come with the Rig. At the lower Rig setting, the Crossbar tip ends should rest on the Rig's lower ring. Crossbars support ceramic stones, pans, grids inside the Rig. One Crossbar runs across the front. The other runs across the back.

Large Adjustable Rig Slide Guide: Flat rails are 1/8"x1/2" Stainless and support sliding items. The Crossbar welded to the rails goes to the back of the Rig. Comes with one loose Adjustable Rig Crossbar that supports the front of the Slide Guide.

13" x 17" Oval Stainless Grid: Fabricated using 0.160 dia. EPQ Stainless Steel wire with electro-polish finish for improved performance and durability. The EPQ wire and finish make it easier to clean the grid after each cook. The grid crosswires are compact (0.55" spacing) and can hold just about any type of food.

13" x 17" Oval Heat Deflector: Deflector specifications are 12-3/4" across the flat side, 17" across the round side, 5/8" thickness and high refractory ceramics. Do not oil or use dish detergents on the deflector. Protect from drippings with foil or pan. Best to set the deflector while the grill comes to temperature to prevent thermal shock. The Oval Heat Deflector is a Ceramic Grill Store exclusive.

Your EGG grid sits on top of the Rig.

Quality metal and finish

Just what i needed to smoke 8.5 pounds of pork belly strips for bacon on my large BGE. Without the second level rack I’m stuck smoking in two batches. Looking forward to the weekend where I run a brisket on the lower and ribs on the upper.

Great addition to Medium BGE

The raised grid has been an awesome new piece of equipment so far. I was only able to order the correct part (5 leg since I have the older style BGE) and the updated 16” grid thanks to the level of detail/notes on the website. I’ve used it as a 50/50 direct/indirect with the 15” half moon ceramic and in an indirect setup using the full circle ceramic that came with the egg originally. Both worked very well, and it’s nice to have the grate raised to lid level now when grilling. I would definitely recommend this and the accompanying accessories to anyone on the fence. Quality/welds are also very nice as far as the grid expander and grid.
