🔧 Check your Bands, Hinges & Nuts

Over time, the nuts and bolts that hold your dome and base can loosen. Keeping them tight ensures your grill's dome and base are safe and secure.

✅ Inspect all bolts and nuts—tighten any that are loose.
✅ Check the bands around the dome and base—make sure they are snug.
✅ Open and close the lid to ensure smooth movement.

👀 Inspect Your Grill Cover

Your grill cover takes a beating being out in the elements all year long, whether from harsh weather or animals. A damaged cover won't property protect your grill.

✅ Look for rips, tears, or signs of wear.
✅ If your cover is chewed up or doesn’t fit properly, you might consider replacing it.
✅ Keep your grill covered when not in use to extend its lifespan.

🧽🧼Deep Clean Your Grids & Grates

A dirty grate affects both the taste of your food and your grill’s performance. A simple deep clean can make a huge difference.

✅ Use a balled-up piece of aluminum foil to scrub the grates (avoid bristle brushes!).
✅ For tougher grime, heat the grill to high temp and burn off residue before scrubbing.
✅ Lightly oil the grates before cooking to prevent food from sticking.

👀 Examine Your Lump Grate & Vents

Good airflow is key to maintaining even temperatures and efficient fuel use.

✅ Look at the lump grate—if it's rusted or clogged, replace it or upgrade to a Kick Ash basket.
✅ Ensure the daisy wheel is moving freely and is free of buildup.
✅ Empty any ash buildup to keep vents clear.

🛠️ Check Your Ceramics for Cracks

Ceramic grills are built to last, but they can develop cracks over time. If you're the original purchaser of your grill, check your Warranty details before you buy a replacement. Most kamado manufacturers offer lifetime warranties on the ceramic components.

✅ Check your heat deflectors or conveggtor—are they chipped or broken?
✅ File a warranty claim or replace any damaged parts before firing up the grill.
